Nice warm hilly race and fighting a cold. Made the mistake thinking I could catch the climbers on the decends. Big thumbs up to the guys who carried the last part of the hill. Hoping some hill training will help me in the future.

Hot and hard race. Missed the break but stayed in the chase group until Dan Rhule punched it on the last climb.
Marty rode hrd and led me out for the field sprint.

A very challenging 60 mile course. I would fall back a little on the second big climb on each lap, and then work my butt off to get back with the group in front of me. Considering I have not done much hill work yet this year, I was pretty pleased to crack the top 10.

Hot race. 2 man break took off last lap. Was in front of chase group until 1k to go when legs literally locked up. Couldn't bend right leg.Fell back. Stopped on side of road. Got off bike and sat down until legs relaxed. Then rolled into finish.

The problem with Appalachia is Appalachia; what counts for paved roads wouldn't count for alternative ox-cart paths in Bangladesh. My virgin Madone was de-flowered, defiled, and violated. A handmade Conti Sprinter was raped by a rock, a perfect Chinese carbon rim was shattered. My sweet poor Maddy Madone can never show her face in the upper tiers of society again. The House of Tallan shall defend her honor-someone bring me the head of the Traffic Engineer of Lake Hope.
