Ouch!!....Decided to give the mountain bike a workout today. Or, more fitting, the mountain bike kicked my backside today. A large turnout for the first race in the NEO MTB Power Series at Regan Park in Medina Ohio. The weather started nice and the trails tacky for this 10+ mile time trial throughout the Regan Park trails. 331 Promotions is a class act, they do it right. Times posted almost as they happen and food and drink waiting for the riders as they finish. Me? well...I ride a mountain bike like a bull in a china shop. I tend to bounce off trees and plow through the single track with little (very little) skill. In the end I finished a respectable 8th and was glad to leave with my bike and body in one piece. As I was finishing the sky let loose and those still out on the course were treated to a monsoon. All in all it was a good day, but I'm glad the next mtb event is a month away. I'll need that time to heal.
